This cozy home is a duplex and is on 2 ½ acrces with 200 frontage feet of sugar sand beach on West Bay. There is a huge 2.5 acre yard available for games. This house can comfortably accommodate family or friends up to six, romantic getaway. It is a beautiful property with a 200ft private beach, kayaks, rowboat, dock and breathtaking views, gracious rooms and furnishings, and lots of amenities. On the beach side of the house, there is a large wooden deck on the back of the house with a 1.2 acre grassy yard that leads down to the beach. There is a propane grill on the back deck with plenty of seating for six and fantastic views.

Located in the charming village of Omena, “the bend at the first knuckle of the little finger” of Michigan’s Leelanau peninsula between Northport and Suttons Bay. This is a historic little village with Knot Just a Bar, a small grocery store, Leelanau Cellars Wine Tasting, a post office, a museum and a gallery all within a 2 min walk. Enjoy wonderful days filled with sun, swimming, boating, beachcombing for Petoskey stones, bicycling or hiking on the many back roads and dedicated trails, and spending quality time with your family and friends. From the house you will experience shimmering sunrises over the water and woods each morning and sublime evenings. When you look up you can count stars and see the Milky Way.

Within easy reach are the attractions that define the very best “up north” experience: Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, charter fishing, casinos, excellent restaurants and bakeries (from pub fare to Zagut rated delights like Bleu and Martha’s Table). There are historical and cultural amenities including Interlochen Center for the Arts, amazing natural and human history, including the new tribal museum at Peshabestown, and several historic light houses and museums. And there are bounteous farmers markets, 20 wineries and cideries in Leelanau county alone. The Traverse City area sports 5 microbreweries, several distilleries, and there’s a “u-pick” flower garden just down the road.

The home’s interior has been updated with comfortable furnishings. It features a convenient laundry room off the main kitchen. The large living room a perfect place to relax with large flatscreen TV, books and games for all ages.The private beach is 200 frontage feet of sugar sand beach on beautiful Omena Bay. There is a beautiful large wooden deck on the beach with a large oak tree that provides shade and plenty of beach chairs and a table. You can hangout at the beach the entire time and not even know time has passed.The swimming and diving is unbelievable. Omena Bay is a place where every bay should look like. There are kayaks available for rent, dock and a free rowboat. The sandy cove of Omena Bay is inviting, with calm protected waters for swimming. In the evening enjoy the colors of the sunset and gather around a beach fire (there is a stone fire pit and seating on the beach.) Or, if you prefer, walk down the road to the nautical themed “Knot Just a Bar” restaurant, and enjoy a gourmet dinner outdoors watching the sun set and the moon rise. The fantastic “up north” experience does not end with summer. Enjoy spectacular foliage, hiking, biking, and winery tours while making this beautiful house your home base at off season rates. Also close by are cross country and downhill skiing in the winter.

- We collect a $79 Cottage Damage Protection Fee upon arrival.

- The kayaks, paddle boards and rowboat are free to use.

- No security deposit is collected for either the cottage or the boats

- Summer is  Peak season; 2nd week Jun - end Aug and is weekly rental 

- Sep - May is Non peak season and is minimum 2 night min

- Pontoon boats are not available for rent in Omena
